how can I turn our friendship into lovers?

I have a very good friend... he is a guy. I already like him before we became friends. Because of that i want to tell him that I am in love with him, but I am hesitating on that point, I don't want to loose our friendship... even to loose him after all... in case i tell her my feeling and he's not agree.... :-[
